"Helen left my head spinning and my mind racing a mile a minute. I need to know what the secrets are..." (The Book Fairy Reviews)"Talon and Jade's chemistry sizzles and the love scenes will melt your heart..." (The Book Sirens) New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Helen Hardt's passion for the written word began with the books her mother read to her at bedtime. She wrote her first story at age six and hasn't stopped since. In addition to being an award winning author of contemporary and historical romance and erotica, she's a mother, an attorney, a black belt in Taekwondo, a grammar geek, an appreciator of fine red wine, and a lover of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. She writes from her home in Colorado, where she lives with her family. Helen loves to hear from readers.Visit her here: helenhardt.comfacebook.com/helenhardt

Jade Roberts is in love with Talon Steel but no longer welcome in his home. While she resolves to move on, she still longs for the passion she and Talon shared...and when her boss asks her to dig up information on the Steels, she's only too happy to comply. Talon and his brothers are hiding something, and Jade is determined to find out what it is.

The moment Talon saw Jade he wanted her, ached for her, craved her...and now his desire has become his obsession. He knows she deserves better than his broken soul, but he can't stay away from her, and he finally confesses his love. If he and Jade are to have a future, he knows he must make peace with the dark shadows and horrors of his past.

But as Talon begins his journey of healing, Jade uncovers some startling secrets...

Talon & Jade MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - Talon comes a LONG way in this second installment. He has serious reasons for pushing Jade away this time but he doesn't because he is finally going to face his demons, for her, and for himself, and for his family. I especially like how Talon confides in his brothers which is extremely brave! In the meantime Jade's job is to dig up some dirt on the Steel family and in doing so she uncovers one of Talon's attackers just like she did in the first book. Jade would actually make a better PI than an attorney. She follows the trail of birth certificates, marriage certificates, articles about Talon's heroism but all the puzzle pieces haven't entirely clicked yet. Talon continues to experience triggers while he's with Jade & his past is so disturbing & sad. Even after Talon hurts Jade, physically & emotionally, she wants to heal him with her love & with her body so there are some very hot scenes in this book. Unfortunately they often end in Talon remembering something about his abusive past.Best "Click Bait" for books ever! This has got to be the best "click bait" for books. For those who don't know what "click bait" is, it's when you go to a website and click on a video that has the picture of what you expect to see. Only it goes through 5 minutes worth of stupid and nothing with the video you hoped it would show. This is similar. I got hooked on the free kindle chapter called "Craving". Figured it would be worth the $6.99 for the next book to finish up this particular storyline of the Steel Brothers. No such luck.I purchased the 2nd in the series and was sorely disappointed when it pretty much ended. . .again. . .with no closure to the storyline. Granted, we got a bit more in clues for the saga, but it only made me mad I could finish up the storyline so I could get on to a fresh story in the series.I WOULD HAVE considered purchasing future books by this author but it started to feel like the "Red John" situation on the t.v. show The Mentalist. This particular character always being in the background and even several secondary storylines being referenced. Gets rather tiresome dragging on that particular chapter with no resolution. I feel the same with this book.Don't get me wrong. The characters got me hooked and the heart-wrenching past had me wanting to see those responsible pay for their horrific part. But I feel slighted that I have to keep paying more for what. . .7 more chapters. . .just to hear what happened to ONE of family members.Maybe if the third chapter comes to Kindle for free, I might continue to catch up with these characters. But for now, I'm willing to tap down my curisoity in favor of saving my pocketbook.Good but be prepared to spend money to find out what happens The book is good, but I don't like that it just cuts off and you have to keep buying the next in the series.....Books are made to have endings, and if this was meant to be a 9 part book it should have been presented that way. I feel cheated that I have to keep spending the money to find out the ending.

Author: Kristin Hensley
Published Date: 2019-04-02
Page: 288

KRISTIN HENSLEY and JEN SMEDLEY have been performing, teaching, and writing comedy for a combined 40+ years. They have been moms for one quarter of that time and it shows. From Pinterest-induced panic, to trying to get your kid to eat just one damn green bean, to wondering why it feels like you disappeared the day you became a mom, they get it. They get you. Kristin and Jen know firsthand that parenting is a hard job and they invite you to join them in taking it all a little less seriously. After all, Jen currently has four days of dry shampoo in her hair and Kristin’s keys are still in her front door. They try, they fail, they support each other, and they mom as hard as they can.

Has it been months since you’ve read a book with actual adult words that had nothing to do with farm animals or superheroes or going potty? Well then, it’s time to take a break. Pour yourself some wine. Put on your comfy pants. All good? Ok, welcome to the party.

Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley, the creators of #IMOMSOHARD, know that you probably didn’t get to shower today and that the last thing you need is more advice on how to be a better parent. Instead, they invite you to join their laugh-out-loud, best friend banter on the eighty bajillion ways moms give their all every day—including:

I KEEP IT TOGETHER SO HARD

I BODY AFTER BABY SO HARD

I HIT THE TOWN (AND AM IN BED BY 9:30 P.M.) SO HARD

I BUST MY ASS SO HARD

I KEEP FOOLS ALIVE SO HARD

Come for the laughs, stay for the kinship with two friends who are just getting it right, getting it wrong, and leaning on each other for a laugh at the end of the day. They don’t care if your house is a mess and they won’t judge you if you pee a little when you sneeze. So kick back, relax, and enjoy. You deserve it.

The Incomplete Book of Running Pdf

ISBN: B07FK4J1HZ
Title: The Incomplete Book of Running Pdf

Peter Sagal, the host of NPR's Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! and a popular columnist for Runner's World, shares lessons, stories, advice, and warnings gleaned from running the equivalent of once around the Earth.

At the verge of turning 40, Peter Sagal - brainiac Harvard grad, short, bald Jew with a disposition toward heft, and a sedentary star of public radio - started running seriously. And much to his own surprise, he kept going, faster and further, running 14 marathons and logging tens of thousands of miles on roads, sidewalks, paths, and trails all over the US and the world, including the 2013 Boston Marathon, where he crossed the finish line moments before the bombings.

In this new audiobook, Sagal reflects on the trails, tracks, and routes he's traveled, from the humorous absurdity of running charity races in his underwear - in St. Louis, in February - or attempting to "quiet his colon" on runs around his neighborhood - to the experience of running as a guide to visually impaired runners and the triumphant post-bombing running of the Boston Marathon in 2014. With humor and humanity, Sagal also writes about the emotional experience of running, body image, the similarities between endurance sports and sadomasochism, the legacy of running as passed down from parent to child, and the odd but extraordinary bonds created between strangers and friends. The result is a funny, wise, and powerful meditation about running and life that will appeal to listeners everywhere.

Philosophical, Funny, and Entertaining I need to preface this review by noting my biases: I am also a short, bald father employed by an NPR station who loves to run and who also loves the Boston Red Sox. So my affinity towards Mr. Sagal is a given. With that said: I really loved this book and would have loved it whether or not my affinity towards Mr. Sagal was an undercurrent in my thinking. As a runner, a father, a husband, a person who has questioned their lifestyle upon notice of love handles, a person who has gone through both triumphs and struggles, this book hits nearly every reason why I don't "go out for a jog," but call myself "a runner."Perhaps it's best to start with what this book IS NOT.It's not a Talmudic interpretation of Hanson's marathon training (although both the Talmud and marathon training come up in the book). It's not a self-help book on how to start running (although you'll be inspired to start running if you aren't a runner already). It's not a sojourn through Mr. Sagal's lifetime running accomplishments (although you do visit several periods of his life and he does note some of his accomplishments). It's not like any other running book I have ever read (and I've read quite a few). The best way I can describe the book is this: it's what I imagine it would be like if I bellied up to the bar with Pete (because it's a bar, I'd call him Pete and not Mr. Sagal, unless he insisted) and had a few beers while talking about life, running, fatherhood, marriage, heartbreak, struggles, and triumphs. There are funny parts (obviously), some great stories (especially his experience as a guide for blind runners at the '13 and '14 Boston Marathon), and some pretty profound moments. No offense to Mr. Sagal (notice we aren't at the bar in this situation, so I'm more formal), but I didn't think I'd have to read this book with a pencil for underlining purposes as I, perhaps naively, did not approach this book with the idea that there would be quotes or thoughts to which I would want to return. But there were many moments where I stopped to think about the profundity of a sentence or an observation or a quote.Every runner will feel a familiarity with some of the concepts, thoughts, and feelings about which Pete writes (I'm drinking a beer as I type this so I'm going back to the informal for this part). Every father, husband, mother, wife, sibling, aunt, or uncle will feel the same. The book not so much explores the life of a runner, but all of our lives: searching for meaning, for a goal, for security, for self-worth, for a life well lived.I highly recommend it for everyone.A sweet, personal, at times heartbreaking memoir. As a fellow (Boston) marathoner, I related to Peter's story on so many levels that I found myself wiping away tears throughout the book. I would recommend this book to all runners, especially middle-aged, recently divorced men! A beautiful reminder of how this sport enhances all facets of our lives.Wonderful A listener to his radio program and casual runner, I was excited to get a copy of this book. I found it to contain expected wit and humor, but also touching moments and insights. It is a book about running, yes, but also one of heart.

Wilderness, The Gateway To The Soul Pdf

ISBN: 1732352208
Title: Wilderness, The Gateway To The Soul Pdf Spiritual Enlightenment Through Wilderness
Author: Scott Stillman
Published Date: 2018-07-15
Page: 210

"Anyone who picks up this book, whether they've hiked every trail in the country or have never laced up a boot, will fall in love with Earth's magic through Scott Stillman's eyes. He brings canyons and mountainscapes to life through reverent observation and pure, joyful adventure reminiscent of Edward Abbey's desert days. His eye for rustic beauty reminds us all to slow down and rejoice each day we're alive." -EMMA MURRAY, BOULDER WEEKLYScott Stillman was born in Fairfield, Ohio, then moved to Boulder, Colorado in 2003. For twelve years he backpacked extensively through the mountains and deserts of the American West. Along the way he worked as a bicycle mechanic, Uber driver, and a whole slew of unconventional jobs to fund his travels and stay on the wilderness path. Recording his journeys with pen and notebook, he writes primarily about our spiritual connection to nature.

Through his deeply poetic and wildly provocative tale of personal transformation, Scott Stillman takes us on a spiritual journey, away from a chaotic world of details, obligations, smartphones and noisy machines, to a place that is unspoiled, untamed, free.

Mostly solo, he guides us deeply into American Wilderness. There is heart-wrenching beauty. Undeniable presence. In the cracks and fissures of the Earth we uncover timeless wisdom, ancient magic, and a Gateway to the Soul. Here we learn who we truly are. Beneath all the layers, the labels, the stories, the myths.

Come on in. The door is wide open. To all who wish to wander.

If Thoreau was alive today... Would he go on a journey like this? I would like to think so.Mr. Stillman’s writing style is poetic and prose wrapped around his determination and accomplishment.I think this is a great book for anyone who loves our country and it’s natural beauty. His writing brilliantly reminds us that we are all part of something bigger than ourselves. My suggestion is to read it before going on your own adventures! The Healing Power of Nature While reading this book, I found myself mesmerized by the picture that the author painted in my mind about his experiences! Although I would have loved to see pictures throughout or a section dedicated to the places he describes, the pictures weren't needed. And, as the author points out, would have taken him out of the present moment anyway from being in communion with nature. :)My favorite type of vacation is one out in nature where I am camping, hiking, & hot springing & when I read his descriptive reflections it makes want to do the solo journeys I used to take when I want to college. I am craving the silence, the stillness & the surrender that being alone in nature can bring. The quieting of the mind & the clarity of thought & purpose that comes with taking time away to unplug.I am hoping this author decides someday to lead guided journeys that start in a group setting, disperse to their very own solo journeys, & come back afterward to connect & reflect on their experiences. :)So here's the deal... if you love nature, it's just simply healing for you, OR you've never stepped a foot outside in your life this book will remind you of your true authentic nature & why it's so important to reconnect with yourself in nature OFTEN.It might also remind you to find gratitude for this connection by protecting the beautiful wilderness places that have healed, nourished & uplifted you. :)Half-brained philosophies and arrogant towards anyone who isn’t a jobless hiker Scott Stillman writes about his wilderness travels in this book, mostly writing in stream-of-consciousness form, rambling on about his inner thoughts on wilderness and nature. A lot of this feels like armchair philosophy written on the back of wrinkled napkins or gasoline receipts. What he does most in this book is take to the thru-hiker mentality of talking arrogantly about the virtues of not having a job and being free of the trappings of modern society, and he tries to make you, the reader, feel bad for earning a living while providing for your family. Stillman seems to think he is the only person on earth who loves nature because he’s in it, while the rest of us are soullessly slaving away in a life we all hate. This guy will never be responsible enough to even know what it’s like to raise a family. He also takes pot shots at National Parks and people who vacation at them. He seems to want everyone on earth to sell their homes and go hiking but he doesn’t want to see you out there, he wants the whole planet for himself. Mr. Stillman, just because we have jobs and have to work hard to pay mortgages and buy groceries to feed our children does NOT mean we don’t love nature as much as you!!!

"Cities are the future of the human race, and Jeff Speck knows how to make them work." (David Owen, staff writer at the New Yorker)

Nearly every US city would like to be more walkable - for reasons of health, wealth, and the environment - yet few are taking the proper steps to get there. For ease of use, the rules are grouped into 19 chapters that cover everything from selling walkability, to getting the parking right, escaping automobilism, making comfortable spaces and interesting places, and doing it now!

Walkable City was written to inspire; Walkable City Rules was written to enable. Wet package = wet book Book came warped in a soaked box. Can’t use it as a gift, as I had intended.great book....the best on walkability Great book by an outstanding authorAn Invaluable Guideline for Urban Design I’ve just ordered another six copies of this book. I’ve now ordered fifteen copies total. I LOVE this book and have bought copies to give to Planning Commissioners, bike / pedestrian / transportation advocates, and local lending libraries. Jeff Speck has created a ‘CliffsNotes’ compilation of wisdom that includes concepts from other urban design / transportation books that I’ve read. This book has great potential to change thinking and help us transform our cities to create truly livable places. The book is very approachable and light hearted. I highly recommend this book!
