I read this brilliant book in one sitting, hand cramped from the notes I knew right away that I needed to take. Part road map, part manual, I stood up from my seat a completely different person, much to my fiercely protective shadow's chagrin. Pixie writes that soul work flourishes in safe company and auspiciously provides in these pages an unquestionably safe place to begin the kind of personal healing that will help us stop hurting ourselves, the people we love and the communities we come from due to our own deep and unresolved wounds. --Anne Carmack, screenwriter"It may be the most important work in our soul's evolution and healing, to walk with courage and clarity the shadow landscapes of our souls. This book serves as a velvety manual guiding us into and through the intimate intricacies of these dark places. Pixie offers both guidance into the depths, as well as tools and the support of a clear container, which can lead us to alchemize the shadows into gold, thus bringing us into growth and greater wholeness." --Marysia Miernowska The Gaia School of Healing & Earth Education, CaliforniaThis book is for the tired ones, the serious ones, the desperate ones, the hopeful ones tired of running from our own shadows and the monstrous shadows of history and society, serious about doing the gutsy work of personal and collective healing, desperate enough to not flinch at Pixie s hard-hitting and life-giving words, and hopeful enough to follow the pathway out of the shadows and into true freedom, no matter the cost. Practical, imaginative, and deeply personal this book will help you examine the shadows in every crack and crevice of your gorgeous and painful life. What an illuminating gift to us all! --Christena Cleveland, Ph.D., author, activist, and director of the Center for Justice + Renewal Cherie Dawn Carr is the author of five books centered on healing through intimate relationship with oneself and the natural world. She is an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. She writes as Lighthorse to honor the unheard voices of her ancestors.

Pain is something we can all relate to. We have grown socially accustomed to looking for a magic pill to mask it, and all other symptoms of deeper unrest. Yet becoming intimate with pain, but not possessed by it, enables us to feel, sense, and hear the wise teachings held within it. Emotional, physical, mental, sexual, and psychic pain, as well as collective pain carried for Earth during this time of great transition, contains valuable wisdom.Shadow is a term for the discarded within ourselves that informs our lives. It offers the potential to reveal what we previously thought was unsuitable, so unsuitable that we imprisoned it and forgot it. The aim is to know the shadow well, appreciate it, seek to integrate it—not leave it neglected to rot in a cell beneath the surface, where it is inevitably clanging its tin cup against the bars asking for acknowledgement and honoring—to make a place for it as part of your life story, but not let it be the operating manual. In this book, we'll explore:The keys to working with your shadowsHow to engage your shadow to heal generational patternsThe acts of liberation for individuals and all members of society and cultureWhat it would look like to break the repetitive loop of sufferingLanguage prompts to help navigate the shadowsShadow work is one of many keys to breaking the cycles of suffering. It prioritizes healing and offers empathy for one another.

Loving your Shadow This gorgeous book of truth and healing is a fabulous guide on the journey to your most hidden inner realms. Shadow work is never anyones favorite topic because we only hide what it is not easy to see. But Pixie Lighthorse is a master at bringing the darkness to light with stunning clarity and deep compassion for the challenging emotional issues we all share. And she delivers her wisdom in bite sized chunks of practical and powerful insight and understanding that allow you to go at your own pace on your path of self discovery while leaving you feeling nourished, curious and wanting more!Plus it’s SO beautifully written Like a poetic love letter to the abandoned and forsaken parts of you that need love the most. This book is life-changing!!!! It’s not the same old New Age cliché model of shadow work. This book is life-changing!!!! It’s not the same old New Age cliché model of shadow work. This is actually practical and truly gives you so much to consider through the prompts you are able to have an in-depth experience of becoming honest with oneself and growing out of what is no longer working. Make sure to buy more than one because it is so good you will certainly be giving them away to anyone and everyone you know. Well at least that what I do :)A Manual for Building Self-Awareness and Resilience Goldmining the Shadows is a guide to every individual and collective culture’s most difficult and important work: unearthing what has been buried in order to find the gold - the path forward towards healing, reparations, and reclamation. The book’s format - small, page sized doses of big medicine - supports a sustainable pace of healing. This is a book to be digested and embodied. The first third of the book sets the stage for how to create mental, physical and emotional space to do active healing work, and defines what “shadow work” is and why a person would even “go there.” When we exhume and examine subconscious aspects of ourselves and old wounds, we are more informed about what is motivating present-day behavior. Shadow work can therefore be incredibly liberating. The book also covers types of shadow work, common areas of resistance, and strategies for re integration. The author ties shadow work to present-day conversations and work around race, pointing out that discomfort is often an essential aspect of growth and repair. This is a book that provokes, encourages, and illuminates by working with examples from the author’s own life, as well as observations from current culture. “Goldmining the Shadows” includes a section of language prompts at the end that is a very helpful script for what to say when fear and shadow have taken over. The language prompts - a very tangible take away feature and resource - are always my favorite aspect of Lighthorse’s books, and worth the price of admission just for these 5 pages! While, as the author points out, shadow work is ultimately a solo enterprise - no one can do it for you - this book can serve as a trusted map for dark, as-yet untraveled roads. Pixie Lighthorse as well as the allies she evokes, including the panther depicted on the cover, are our guides to helping us suss out what we've been avoiding. In the words of one of the chapter titles: “Yes To this Hard Journey.”

Renowned for demonstrating the power of affirmations to bring about positive change, Louise was the author of more than 30 books for adults and children, including the bestsellers The Power Is Within You and Heal Your Body. Websites: www.louisehay.com, www.healyourlife.com, and www.facebook.com/louiselhay

A Deck of 64 Affirmation Cards to Help You Find Your Inner Strength. Packaged in a beautiful gift box, this deck of 64 cards contains 128 unique pieces of art exquisitely illustrated by five artists. Each vibrant card contains a powerful affirmation on one side and a visualization on the other to enlighten, inspire, and bring joy to your life.

Love! I love these cards! They are thick, have a shiny surface so you could easily wipe them off, they are double sided. One side with a beautiful short affirmation, and then a longer one on the back. Just what I needed.Very Nice! Beautiful cards and of good quality. The affirmations are all perfectly written. My only wish is that there were a few more affirmations for those of us in our senior years who may not be thinking about finding relationships or starting a career or making making tons of money. Instead we are working on healthy existing relationships, caretaking, financial stability, health issues, and aging stigmas. That's it! Louise could make a whole new deck just for us aging Boomers who are looking at "maturity" in new ways.Awesome Product! These card ROCK!!!!!! I use them for therapeutic and yoga groups that I led. It is super amazing when someone picks up a card and later shares with me, "this spoke to me right now." Louise Hay does a great job of providing little mantra and encouragement in these cards. Great for mindfulness and empowerment with groups or self. I would recommend to anyone, thanks.

ISBN: 0316454486
Title: The House of Kennedy Pdf
Author: James Patterson
Published Date: 2020-04-13
Page: 400

Those who dwell in the House of Kennedy work hard, live hard, and win at all costs. But just how much has it cost them?

The Kennedy name is synonymous with American royalty. The family commitment to public service is legendary and enduring. But all their wild charisma has been dashed by disgrace and tragedy: Assassinations. Murder. Plane crashes. Fatal accidents. Mental illness. Drug overdoses. Alcohol abuse, and plenty of sex scandals. This family of widows and fatherless children has been cursed with nearly unimaginable losses -- yet even today, there remains a glamorous aura around the indomitable Kennedys.

#1 bestselling author James Patterson once again tells a spellbinding story to "maximum dramatic effect" (The Wall Street Journal)--and this one is all true.

High School Free Pdf

ISBN: 0374169942
Title: High School Pdf
Author: Sara Quin
Published Date: 2019-09-24
Page: 352

“Complexly intimate, smartly crafted, and packing a subtle emotional wallop . . . A quietly heroic origin story.”―ROLLING STONE“Tegan and Sara are massively gifted songwriters, so this genius memoir shouldn’t have shocked me like it did. There’s simply nothing like it; it’s completely original, utterly gripping, and gorgeously written. High School is a fresh, beautiful, and fearlessly powerful coming-of-age memoir.”―AUGUSTEN BURROUGHS, New York Times bestselling author of Running with Scissors and Toil & Trouble“Intense, vulnerable and life-affirming. Tegan and Sara take us back through their whirlwind journey, densely packed with the intricate complications and the envious, unspoken connection of growing up an identical twin.”―ABBI JACOBSON, author of I Might Regret This and co-creator of Broad City“It should come as no surprise to anyone who has ever listened to a song by Tegan and Sara, that while not only are they able to convey the raw and complex emotions of the high school experience, the aimlessness of suburban life and the exhilaration of finding your way out, they also speak universal truths about intimacy between families and sisters, friends and lovers. They've captured a time and a place so perfectly, I can't exactly be sure that I wasn't there."―BUSY PHILIPPS, actress, Freaks and Geeks, Dawson’s Creek"To navigate the experiential landscape of high school is always an emotional minefield. To have Tegan and Sara unabashedly share the perspective of young lesbians is a rare and invaluable gift. The kind of empathetic education our society is starved for.”―K.D. LANG“This account of the pains and pleasures of dirtbag queer-girl adolescence is everything you could want from a memoir: honest and hilarious, dishy and sweet, smart and self-aware and utterly charming. What a gift to get this view of Tegan and Sara as sisters, as friends, and as artistic collaborators, as they were becoming musical icons, and―more importantly―themselves.”―CARMEN MARIA MACHADO, author of Her Body and Other Parties“What a gift to read the coming of age story of the brilliant Tegan and Sara. High School gives us a glimpse into the struggles and triumphs of both sisters as individuals and an evolving band. Their vulnerability, honesty, and compassion bursts through, and will make countless people feel less alone. It is so important for the LGBTQ+ community to have memoirs like this in which they can recognize themselves and be inspired to follow their truth. I am endlessly grateful to Tegan and Sara for giving so much to this world.”―ELLEN PAGE, actress and producer, The Umbrella Academy“High School embodies the singular gift of words leaping off of the page and becoming feelings, rattling around in the hearts and minds of a reader. The truth of nostalgia is that it must have multiple lenses to operate in its most flourishing form. Much like in their music, in this book, the voices of Tegan and Sara are two distinct bodies of water flowing into the same harmonious river, spilling through the echoing hallways of old high schools, through the bedrooms of first heartbreaks, through the old haunts that remind you of your own. This book is a triumph of memory, affection, and engaging writing.”―HANIF ABDURRAQIB, author of Go Ahead in the Rain: Notes to a Tribe Called Quest“This book is the LSD-fueled, wallet-chained, Kurt Cobain–inspired handbook of how to become young, queer rock stars, written by chapter-swapping twins who I wish I had read when I was in high school. This book would have changed everything. I recommend reading it under the covers with a flashlight, and hiding it from your mother.”―IVAN COYOTE, author of Tomboy Survival Guide and Rebent Sinner"Tegan and Sara's literary coming-of-age memoir High School is an engrossing, sharply crafted, deeply authentic look at the misery of (queer) adolescence and the gorgeous glory of becoming yourself. So much angst and revelation, depression, inebriation, inspiration, vulnerability, and power. A wild, teenage ride I could not put down."―MICHELLE TEA, author of Against Memoir“Candid, tender, courageously honest, and heartbreakingly familiar; I could see myself and my own experience reflected in these stories, more so than in anything else I've ever read. Reading this book moved me deeply.”―JULIEN BAKER, singer and songwriter“With their music, Tegan and Sara offer listeners a glimpse at a specific time and place. In High School, they throw the door open and allow readers the opportunity to become fully immersed in their world. Tegan and Sara’s stories of first loves, self discovery, and the insights into their relationship with each other are deeply moving and relatable. They never hold back from the absolute authenticity they are known for. I never wanted it to end.”―CLEA DUVALL, actress and director, Veep, The Intervention“High School highlights the indisputable fact that Tegan and Sara were never just musicians―they are master storytellers. In reflecting on that torturous span of time spent agonizing over one’s body, friendships, parents, and desires, this book highlights how high school is less of a place or memory but a metaphor for uncertainty, and underlines the salvation that can only be found in music. High School foreshadows the beginning of a rich and riveting literary career.”―VIVEK SHRAYA, musician and author of I'm Afraid of Men“This book is one of the most interesting and brave coming-of-age stories I have read in many years. Tegan and Sara reveal the confusion, the unraveling of personal truths, the fear, the excitement, the shame and the seclusion that many of us endure as we make our way through the world. This is also a book about how music saves people, how music gives us a voice and a reason to keep going.”―JANN ARDEN, singer, songwriter, and author of Feeding My Mother“A sweet and salty coming-of-age memoir. The countless Tegan and Sara fans will love this, but it’s also for anyone who ever went to high school and nurtured dreams, schemes, joy and rage while barricaded in their bedroom. Count me in.” ―ANN-MARIE MACDONALD, author of Fall On Your Knees“Tegan and Sara have pulled back the curtain on a formative chapter in their lives and offer a gloriously dizzying, richly observed account of how they became who they are today and what inspired the music we’ve come to know and love. Funny, frank, and so very cool, High School is basically the teenage best friend I always wanted growing up.”―DAN LEVY, actor, producer, Schitt’s CreekDuring the course of their twenty-year career, Tegan and Sara have sold well over one million records and released eight studio albums. They have received three Juno Awards, a Grammy nomination, a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award, and the 2018 New York Civil Liberties Union Award. They have performed on some of the world’s biggest stages, from Coachella to the Academy Awards. Outspoken advocates for equality, in 2016 Tegan and Sara created the Tegan and Sara Foundation, which fights for health, economic justice, and representation for LGBTQ girls and women. The sisters currently reside in Vancouver, British Columbia, and split their time between there and Los Angeles, California. Visit them on their website or connect with them on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

From the iconic musicians Tegan and Sara comes a memoir about high school, detailing their first loves and first songs in a compelling look back at their humble beginnings

High School is the revelatory and unique coming-of-age story of Sara and Tegan Quin, identical twins from Calgary, Alberta, who grew up at the height of grunge and rave culture in the nineties, well before they became the celebrated musicians and global LGBTQ icons we know today. While grappling with their identity and sexuality, often alone, they also faced academic meltdown, their parents’ divorce, and the looming pressure of what might come after high school. Written in alternating chapters from both Tegan's and Sara’s points of view, the book is a raw account of the drugs, alcohol, love, music, and friendship they explored in their formative years.

A transcendent story of first loves and first songs, High School captures the tangle of discordant and parallel memories of two sisters who grew up in distinct ways even as they lived just down the hall from each another. This is the origin story of Tegan and Sara.

Great book, very thoughtful and relatable Loved this book, I honestly wasn’t expecting it to be this good. I found it to be refreshing, surprising, relatable, sad, happy and just generally really good. I read it in a day! Really loved it. As a longtime tegan and Sara fan, I honestly wish they would write about their career past high school but this is a start!Beautiful nostalgia. *SPOILER ALERT*I've never been compelled to leave a review on here before but this story changes everything. I also purchased the book but actually listening to Tegan and Sara's story was so incredible and nostalgic. Never before I have I related so much with someone's story. I'm all about nostalgic vibes and reminiscing about my youth. I lived in Calgary but only for a short while as a kid. My middle school and highschool experiences were in California. I was in high school the same years as Tegan and Sara were so the timeline is perfect. Middle school was hell and high school was better but it also had it's dark moments. I had to deal with bullies in middle school and hiding my sexuality. Parents divorcing, depression and suicide. In high school I had to deal with preppy bullies picking on other students so I'd be the ones standing up for them. Drugs, raves, skateboarding, experimenting, self discovery, hiding my true self and then letting it show. The music shows, sneaking out, getting alienated by siblings and close friends, falling apart, reconnecting and making new friends. Falling in love and the difficulties and complications that can come along with that. Even down to the two cheeseburger McDonalds meal and slurpies. Making music and recording on tapes. Oh God and the relating to Nirvana and the Smashing Pumpkins album Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness. Beautiful. So much more. Anyway, being into nostalgia, I have my own memories like tapes I recorded on the camcorder, pictures, everything! But reading Tegan's and Sara's story hit me with more nostalgic emotions than even my own physical ones I have. They tell the story so well and had me hooked on every word. The sound bites, oh my goodness what a treat those were! I'm so very grateful for them putting this out there. It was absolutely incredible knowing that someone else out there went through things that you went through. I thought "holy s***", I wasn't the only one... Well how about that." It's gripping and brilliant. It definitely took me back. It was like I was actually there while also remembering my own memories of the same time. It all felt intertwined and that was beautiful. They take you on that journey of youth and finding yourself in the world, growing and letting yourself shine through. We needed something like this now more than ever. This is inspiring to the LGBTQ+ community. Tegan and Sara's music has always helped me get by and now, currently in my life, I've needed it more than ever and this was exactly what I needed. I know they have helped so many others and I hope this story resonates with all who read and or listen to it. Much thanks to everyone involved in this. 💙💙Fantastic coming of age tale It was amazing getting to know Tegan and Sara through tales of their youth. The way they capture and explain the emotion of their milestones is exactly why I've loved their music.
