Title: Girl, Stop Apologizing Pdf A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals
Author: Rachel Hollis
Published Date: 2019-03-12
Page: 240

Lifestyle expert Rachel Hollis is the founder of the popular website TheChicSite.com and is the CEO of Chic Media. She is a regular contributor for HuffPost and PopSugar, and she has appeared on Today, Rachael, The Talk, Extra, and many other programs. She lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband and four children.

“I believe we can change the world. But first, we’ve got to stop living in fear of being judged for who we are.”

Rachel Hollis has seen it too often: women not living into their full potential. They feel a tugging on their hearts for something more, but they’re afraid of embarrassment, of falling short of perfection, of not being enough.

In Girl, Stop Apologizing, #1 New York Times bestselling author and founder of a multimillion-dollar media company, Rachel Hollis sounds a wake-up call. She knows that many women have been taught to define themselves in light of other people—whether as wife, mother, daughter, or employee—instead of learning how to own who they are and what they want. With a challenge to women everywhere to stop talking themselves out of their dreams, Hollis identifies the excuses to let go of, the behaviors to adopt, and the skills to acquire on the path to growth, confidence, and believing in yourself.

ACSM's Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription Download

ISBN: 149633907X
Title: ACSM's Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription Pdf
Author: American College of Sports Medicine
Published Date: 2017-02-03
Page: 472
ACSM’s Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription is the flagship title from the American College of Sports Medicine, the prestigious organization that sets the standards for the exercise profession. This critical handbook delivers scientifically based standards on exercise testing and prescription to the certification candidate, the professional, and the student. This manual gives succinct summaries of recommended procedures for exercise testing and exercise prescription in healthy and diseased patients

The tenth edition reflects some crucial and exciting changes, making the content necessary for effective study and practice. New pre-exercise health screening recommendations are critical to helping more of the population begin a safe, healthy physical activity program without consulting a physician. New and expanded information on the risks of sedentary behavior, clinical exercise testing and interpretation, high intensity interval training, musculoskeletal injury risk, fitness testing protocols and norms, and an expansion of the principles of health behavior change are included. Additionally, significant reorganization of content will help you reach the information you need quickly.

This manual is an essential resource for all exercise professionals, as well as other health professionals who may council patients on exercise including physicians, nurses, physician’s assistants, physical and occupational therapists, dieticians, and health care administrators.

Give them a go. As advertised. Will encourage buying used books from seller. I attached real pictures. Not the spiral book so I expected heavy bending but it wasn’t. Read thru. Minor blemishes that could be print issue. See photos for example. The book is very poorly adapted to the Kindle, with full sections rendered unintelligible. This book is not fully legible on the Kindle; the text on the boxed sections [which are apparently of particular importance] is cut off by the box margins, so the paragraphs become unintelligible, which essentially renders the book, useless. I would like a full refund.Easier to Read This edition has pretty much the same information as the last edition, but the layout is much easier on the eyes. The headings and format makes the information easier to follow.

Great. Covers the basics but easier to comprehend for introduction.“New” book with dents and folds. Very disappointed. Ordered it new but received it with dents and a folded cover. If I’m paying all that money for a new book, I expect it to look new.

Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria? Free Pdf

ISBN: 0465060684
Title: Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria? Pdf And Other Conversations About Race
Author: Beverly Daniel Tatum
Published Date: 2017-09-05
Page: 464

"We don't talk about race in America, but we must start if we are going to heal this broken country--and Beverly Tatum's book is exactly the conversation opener we should be using."―Jodi Picoult, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Small Great Things"Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria was a landmark publication when it appeared in 1997. Twenty years later this updated edition is as fresh, poignant and timely as ever."―Earl Lewis, President, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation"An unusually sensitive work about the racial barriers that still divide us in so many areas of life."―Jonathan Kozol Beverly Daniel Tatum, PhD, is president emerita of Spelman College and in 2014 received the Award for Outstanding Lifetime Contribution to Psychology, the highest honor presented by the American Psychological Association. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

The classic, bestselling book on the psychology of racism--now fully revised and updated

Walk into any racially mixed high school and you will see Black, White, and Latino youth clustered in their own groups. Is this self-segregation a problem to address or a coping strategy? Beverly Daniel Tatum, a renowned authority on the psychology of racism, argues that straight talk about our racial identities is essential if we are serious about enabling communication across racial and ethnic divides. These topics have only become more urgent as the national conversation about race is increasingly acrimonious. This fully revised edition is essential reading for anyone seeking to understand the dynamics of race in America.

"An unusually sensitive work about the racial barriers that still divide us in so many areas of life."--Jonathan Kozol

Love the updates to this powerful book Outstanding resource. Love the updates to this powerful book!Should be required reading The work of Dr. Tatum should be required reading for every teacher and student alike. There is no excuse for ignorance of racial identity development when such an amazing resource is available.Classic updated for our modern times The book has been thoroughly updated with references to new research and current events woven into it. It includes chapters on Black racial identity development in childhood, adolescence, and adulthood, which I have found extremely insightful and practical. Dr. Tatum brings in examples from raising her own sons and tidbits of the conversations she had with them, modeling parent-child interactions around race for parents who may be faced with similar problems. Another part that I found very useful is the discussion of Affirmative Action and some arguments against it that are frequently brought up. That section helped me articulate my own position better and be more prepared for times when such conversations arise spontaneously with students or colleagues. Overall, this is a classic and a highly recommended read for anyone interested in issues of social justice, equal opportunity, democracy, and the psychological underpinnings of prejudice.
